"Community Strong. Impact Heavy. One Story At A Time"
Driven By Impact
Since 2020, our Impact Family has thrived and expanded within our Mentorship Programs, serving youth ages six to 18 years old.
Here are just a few of our Life-Changing Moments and Stories!
KGI Inc. Takes on Jamaica
During Spring Break of 2020, KGI Foundation's Founder was granted the opportunity to study abroad in Montego Bay, Jamaica where she served teenagers who were currently pregnant and seeking an education through the Women's Centre Foundation of Jamaica. While studying abroad, Tarnika became aware of the challenges that this demographic endured on a daily as a result of both their living circumstances and their pregnancy. Facilitating a meaningful and memorable workshop, Founder Tarnika Edmunds ensured that the young mothers understood that their purpose was greater than what they believed. Reflecting on and instilling the concepts of self-worth and self-confidence, allowed both herself and the teenage girls to connect on a impactful level. There was no better way than to thank God for this experience then by launching our very first mission project for the adolescent mothers and their families where she supported them by supplying back to school supplies and wear, toiletries, and newborn necessities.
Hurting Hearts Healing Presents:
Mask Off Event
"With healing is pain; getting through the pain comes pleasure, but the hardest part is acknowledging it all while making sure you never fall". As a guest speaker at the Mask Off Event presented by a Richmond based Non-Profit Organization, Founder Tarnika Edmunds was able to utilize her voice to convey her testimony with others. This organization, Hurting Hearts Healing, allowed her to be both transparent and authentic in front of her family members, friends, and those whom she never met regarding the personal trauma that she had lived through which she often shied away from as a child. Leaving both empowered and grateful as ever, the recorded document where she had revealed her speech had touched over 5,497 individuals all of which were from different states and countries. This was truly a breakthrough experience for the organization.
#BlackLivesMatterMovement
During the height of COVID-19 and the year, of 2020 specifically, the Black Lives Matter Movement has strike at an all time high as many African- Americans were affected tremendously by police brutality and injustice behavior instilled by many oppressors. As a result of this form of discrimination, Founder Tarnika Edmunds and Kennedy Tatum, Founder of Acts of Care RVA, took heed to be proactive in the Richmond area as community support and service aligned with their own personal values and vision thus far. On June 19th, 2020, both influencers and advocates partnered together with the help of a close friend by distributing essential needs for those who were protesting and homeless as well. Because of their steadfast momentum, grit, and resiliency they were able to execute an engagement as such.
